How is your Italian?
The Italian magazine DEV has published an article about Morfik in its August issue which is dedicated to the topic of AJAX. The author, Paolo De Nictolis used Morfik C# to develop the examples for the article. He covers some of Morfik’s strengths and current shortcomings. I am sure all of you who are conversant with Italian will enjoy it, and if anybody would like to translate it, it would be much appreciated :-) In the meantime here is an extract "Nella corsa alla conquista di AJAX e di quello che molti chiamano il Web 2.0 entra anche questo progetto australiano, il cui “WebOS” nel nome denota la volontà di costruire applicazioni indipendenti dal sistema operativo sottostante.
Top Ten Web 2.0 Games
Ajaxian writes “Bored at work (or at home, for that matter) and looking for something to do? Well, this page might have just the ticket for you. It lists out a “Top 10″ of some of the more popular Web 2.0 games offered on the web, as ranked by the number of exit clicks each has gotten on the page. “ Morfik Chess is included in the above list and also in another More AJAX-Based Online Games .
AppsBuilder Build 0.8.8.x
It was in June that we released 0.8.7.6 to Pioneers and this contained a number of new features primarily directed at issues related to what is called the ‘Classic Edition’, that is external database connectivity. We have since been working on the critical bugs identified by Pioneers and maintaining the momentum of R&D work. Our internal build is now at 0.8.8.8 and we hope to have a release candidate for Pioneers over the next few weeks. This release will be directed towards the needs of the on-demand developer and will expose the initial features of the ‘SOA Edition’ using examples from Salesforce.com.

Morfik's scope is simply amazing!
“The most exciting thing about Morfik for me is that I can use a traditional object-oriented development approach to get an AJAX-enabled web application, hooking into multiple web services.” “It provides an exciting opportunity to leverage all the benefits of a service-oriented architecture without resorting to clunky client-side, handcrafted JavaScript. The productivity leverage it provides is simply amazing.”
