Comments on Morfik Chess Engine
Do a search on 'Morfik Chess' and read through the results. If you do not have time then just have a look at these two links to get a feel for a range of views - Ajaxian, javascriptsearch. You may also want to take note of the following comment from Morfik posted on Ajaxian, which positions Morfik relative to JavaScript. "Here at Morfik we don't think 'language X versus language Y'. Indeed all languages have their strengths and weaknesses. Our research has involved looking at the merits of interpreted languages versus compiled languages in relation to the web as well as machine/virtual machine versus interpreters. Traditionally compiled languages are run by machines/virtual machines and interpreted (dynamic) languages are run by interpreters. Morfik is experimenting with the possibility of making compiled languages to run on interpreters. We do not see an inextricable connection between Java and its corresponding virtual machine, .NET languages and their corresponding framework and interpreted (dynamic) languages and their corresponding interpreters. We see the current monolithic nature of browsers in their support of computer languages (JavaScript being the only supported language) as negative and as such have developed JST as a way of addressing this need. Those who are avid supporters of JavaScript should not take this the wrong way. We are also great admirers of JavaScript and are fully aware of its many wonderful and clever language features. "
Release of WebOS AppsBuilder 0.8.6.6

The Morfik Developer's Handbook v0.5.0
The Morfik Developer's Handbook incorporating Chapter 5 is now available for download. The new chapter covers Morfik's perspective on Forms/Pages and how to work with them. You will enjoy this chapter as it explains why "Every page is a Form, but not all Forms are Pages".
The Morfik Developer's Handbook v0.6.0
As an Easter gift Mauricio Longo has completed Chapter 6 of the Morfik Developer's Handbook and it is available for download. The new chapter covers Morfik's perspective on Reports and how to generate them. "The AppsBuilder Report Designer uses the same interface that the Forms designer uses, thus making the process of designing a report, very much like the process of designing a Continuous Form. This has the virtue of making it quite easy for someone to move freely from working on one of these items to working on the other."
Morfik introduces the first JavaScript/AJAX Chess Engine!
This alpha-version chess application demonstrates the concept of 'browser as computing platform'. The purpose behind developing this application is to push the envelop of what can conceivably be run within a browser.
The Chess game can be played as a single player or a multi-player networked game. If you choose the 'Single Player Game' mode, you will be playing against the world's first JavaScript Chess Engine which runs in your browser. Release v0.4 sees a couple moves ahead, i.e. this is not (yet) a demonstration of a JavaScript Grandmaster....... :). If you want to contribute to its development we would very much welcome it. All the source code is available online so jump in.
At Morfik we believe that our success depends on your success. That is why we have created the Morfik Developer Assist programme.

Switch to Morfik and see a world of new possibilities unfold
"In our search for suitable software, we found a lot of tools boasted about scripting and templates of every kind but actually restricted creativity to within their own system.” “By contrast, Morfik is in a class of its own. Extremely configurable and with a huge amount of flexibility and fire power built into its framework, it makes us feel there is no limit to the online solutions we can create."
